Here are a few simple checks that professional buyers use when evaluating PVC inflatable toys for the European market:

✅ 1. Smell the Product

A strong chemical odor can be a warning sign.

High-quality PVC should have minimal odor, indicating better raw materials, controlled plasticizer usage, and cleaner production processes.

For children's products, this is often the first quality indicator.

✅ 2. Check for Plasticizer Migration

In the PVC industry, we call this plasticizer migration or oil exudation.

If the surface feels sticky, greasy, or attracts dust easily, it may indicate unstable material formulations.

A premium hopper animal should remain clean, dry, and comfortable to touch throughout its service life.

✅ 3. Perform the Fold Test

This is one of the quickest quality inspections.

Fold the PVC firmly and hold it for a few seconds.

After releasing:

✔ Good material recovers quickly with little or no whitening.

✖ Poor material often shows obvious white stress marks.

This whitening effect, often called stress whitening, may indicate excessive filler content, poor flexibility, or lower-grade PVC compounds.

A hopper animal is designed to be stretched, squeezed, and bounced thousands of times.

The material should offer:

Poor elasticity usually leads to cracking around ears, legs, or welded seams after repeated use.
